Main Points

The California Rangeland Water Quality Management Plan approved by the State Water Resources Control Board in 1995 lists the “Best Management Practices” for range livestock production in California.

Best Management Practices include: prescribed grazing, structural range improvements, land treatments, and livestock management practices.

Best Management Practices are based on the practices in the USDA NRCS Technical Guide.
